Books for cooks
Cookbooks are as fun to read as they are to give and receive as gifts.
These are some of the latest cookbooks on the shelves, just in time for holiday shopping.
“
The Bon Appetit Fast Easy Fresh Cookbook,” by Barbara Fairchild. Nicely organized with a table of contents that lists every recipe, this book also includes a handy section on selecting and storing produce.
“
Paula Deen’s My First Cookbook,” by Paula Deen, Martha Nesbit and Susan Mitchell. The holidays are the perfect excuse to carve out a little extra time for cooking with your kids.
“
Martha Stewart’s Cooking School,” by Martha Stewart. Stewart wants to make you a better cook and has an ambitious plan for ensuring you make the grade. Her new cookbook is a beautiful and comprehensive introduction to the kitchen.
“
The New Lasagna Cookbook” by Maria Bruscino Sanchez takes the Italian comfort food in many directions, from classic (including make-your-own pasta recipes) to quick (no-boil noodles to the rescue) and incorporating vegetarian and other ethnic influences, such as sun-dried tomato and portobello lasagna and Cajun turkey lasagna.
